Our Midwest, Rockies and California Operations are seeking a mid-level project manager to serve as Offshore Energy Project Manager (Mid-level) to support our onshore and offshore renewable energy practices in the Western US. Tetra Tech has acted as the lead consultant on the development of hundreds of offshore facilities, including deep water ports, oil and gas platforms, subsea pipelines and transmission cables, and renewable energy projects, including wind, wave, and hydrokinetic projects across the United States. The Tetra Tech team has significant experience permitting offshore energy infrastructure projects that require authorizations from a multitude of federal, state, and local agencies including, but not limited to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Maritime Administration, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This role is a strategic growth opportunity for the right candidate to use our experience on the east coast of the United States and be part of the Western US Offshore Wind Team. This individual will assist in the development, strategic direction, and growth of Tetra Tech's Offshore Wind practice in the Western US. This role could be located in any of our California, Oregon or Washington office locations.
Responsibilities:
Perform various consulting-related duties supporting the development, analysis, permitting and financial aspects of onshore and offshore renewable energy development projects. Manage multi-disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget. Serve as a Project Manager--including responsibilities to manage technical projects, engage with clients to identify new work opportunities, prepare proposals and cost estimates, establish and formulate technical approaches, and direct project teams. Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders. Support business development efforts including client meetings and proposal preparation.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Environmental Science/Environmental Management/Marine Science/Engineering or related discipline. 5-10 years of professional experience with a pattern of progressive achievements. Experience and knowledge of the regulatory frameworks of California agencies, such as the California Energy Commission, California Coastal Commission, California State Lands Commission, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and State Water Resources Control Board. Experience with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), federal and state permitting, onshore and offshore wind, power generation and transmission, infrastructure, and/or renewable energy. Demonstrated successful project management skills, especially permitting energy projects and leading teams on projects along the West Coast. Applied knowledge of onshore and offshore biological, physical, and cultural resources. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills to convey technical information to clients and business and financial reports to management. Qualifications:
Master's degree Environmental Management/Planning or related background. Experience managing major projects with complex project teams in California, Oregon, or Washington is preferred. Experience with routing, siting, and permitting of electric transmission, offshore oil and gas infrastructure, subsea cable or offshore energy projects. Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience. Salary Range:
